Mme Ginoux (after Van Gogh)

“A recent visit to the National Gallery’s ‘Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers’ exhibition struck a chord with me. I was particularly drawn to the two portraits hung beside each other of Mme Ginoux; though they depict the same woman, each carries a different presence, a unique enigma. This idea of revisiting the same subject with varied interpretations has inspired my current work. My pieces are self-portraits in many ways, each revealing a different facet of my experience.”
