"Blue Field 2 has more pattern than I normally allow. I usually choose to make the darker strokes prominent as one dominant figure, or edit the pattern until it becomes just an essence. In this case, letting the strokes have more play was resolving itself due to the strong horizontal field. This painting strikes a balance between both processes.”
