Whiskey
By examining the marks discovered in the previous series [the Genesis Series], we began experimenting with the kind of marks we could achieve ourselves, using bedsheets as our base material. We fell in love with how delicate the cotton was, its various surface textures, the way it would soak up colour -- subtly dying the fabric in a way that would be impossible to achieve with other materials.
-Spiller + Cameron
The series: These works come from Spiller + Cameron's Gen 1 series - technically their second series of works. The Gen I works take a single letter from the alphabet and are titled using the phonetic (NATO) alphabet. These letters are paneled alongside other subtle sheet fabrics, including seersucker, cotton, and printed stars (containing ghost trace footprints and incidental paint-wiped brush marks).
