Pines Barrens Tree Frog (TP)

In 1983, Andy Warhol was commissioned by publisher Ronald Feldman to create a portfolio of screenprints dedicated to endangered animals. This series featured depictions of ten animals, including an orangutan, zebra, rhinoceros, tree frog, and bald eagle, among others. This was not the only project concerning endangered animals that would occupy Warhol's thoughts. See for example, Warhol's "Vanishing Animals" project with Kurt Benirshke, which resulted in a book by that name, published in 1986.

Below are images of a TP (Trial Proof) from Warhol's Endangered Species portfolio (Pine Barrens Tree Frog). There were 30 signed and numbered trial proofs of each of the 10 endangered animals portrayed in the suite. Each TP has a different colorway but the same composition as the regular edition.
